Arts and Crafts Garden
In this wonderfully authentic Arts & Crafts inspired home, we have gradually created a garden that wraps the house and speaks the language of William Morris and the Arts&Crafts tradition he celebrated. Over the years, we tackled one side of the house at a time starting with the rear garden and borders, then developing the evening terrace off the reading room on the east side of the house, the potting shed and extensive vegetable gardens above overlooking the gardens, the front garden and stone paths and perennial and shrub beds, and the long flower walk and path along the west side of the house. The Long Walk is marvelous, starting out in the shade and gradually moving into full sun as you climb the hill. The perennials along the Long Walk bring joy, fragrance, texture and bold color to the garden 3 seasons of the year and as one sits on the dining terrace off the kitchen and dining room on the west side of the house, one is gently moved by a peaceful, fresh country walk feeling.
