Inspired by our client's love for jewel tones, the south of France, and English gardens---warm colored stone, plant texture, and strong classical forms, we set about rebuilding this postage stamp garden into a garden of antiquity. Fountains spill into the pool helping to drown out street noises. All rooms of the house open onto the garden, providing both color and light to the interior rooms. The garden's linear space is a painterly combination of tapestry hedges turning orange brick into lustrous green and yellow, with long shrub and herbaceous borders offering a wide range of shade loving plants. An iron arch layered with vines connects both water features adding a shady spot to rest and giving the garden a focal point.
